It was very pleasing to see a turn out of 10 parents/carers at our first Uniform Committee Meeting
held at Picton High School on Tuesday 16th November
Parents & carers were able to view samples from Back to Basics Uniforms, RH Sports and Pickles School Uniforms.
Tony Apps from Yeronga School Uniforms also came along to present samples and an introduction to his company.
Discussions during the evening included:
- The preference to sell the uniform items through the school rather than a shop location
- The benefits of a local manufacturer such as Yeronga
- Unisex shirts to reduce household spend
- Focusing on a Summer uniform initially including a jacket
- Colour choices- preferred colours (at this time) were aqua and navy and a possible third colour
- Knee length shorts for boys
- Dress rather than shirt and skirt for girls
- Sports uniform- shirt material and design
Parents were also asked to starting thinking about a logo and banner statement for the school.
The next Uniform Committee Meeting will be held on
Thursday 25th November, 6pm at the Bingara Gorge Sales & Information Centre.
Tony Apps from Yeronga School Uniforms will bring along sample uniforms
based on the colours discussed at the first meeting.
